The Master of Business Administration (Agri Business) is a two-year full time residential post-graduate degree programme which grooms young men and women into professional managers for core areas of agribusiness and allied sectors. The programme aims at providing a comprehensive coverage incorporating the foundation, functional and elective courses relevant to management discipline, in general, and agribusiness management, in particular.
Course Curriculum
The knowledge acquired through the courses and exposure to the organizational functions through attachment with corporate/non-corporate organizations brings the desired professional competence in the students to address the demands of the agribusiness and allied sectors which are experiencing frequent changes. The revised course curriculum implemented from the academic session 2011-12 includes compulsory courses, elective courses, summer internship and project work as given below:

MBA (Agri Business) Programme
Eligibility
Indian nationals below 30 years of age and having Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or allied disciplines (Agricultural Engineering/Dairy Science/Dairy Technology/Fisheries/Food Science/Food Technology/Forestry/Home Science/Horticulture/Veterinary Science, etc.) from any Agricultural University or Institution as recognized by the ICAR with a minimum of 60 per cent marks (55 per cent for SC/ST) are eligible to apply for the MBA (Agri Business) programme. Final year graduating students expecting to complete all degree requirements before July 15, 2012 and obtaining the minimum prescribed percentage of marks can also apply.
Admission Procedure
The admission to the MBA (Agri Business) programme will be done on the basis of the CAT - 2011 to be conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CAT Score will be considered for admission as per the eligibility criteria set up by the institute.
IABM is being enlisted as a non-IIM institute for CAT since 2005. IABM will use CAT score for shortlisting the candidates for its two year full time Postgraduate Programme in Management. IIM’s have no role either in selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
Candidates aspiring to join the programme will be required to submit the application form online. The hard copy of online submitted application form alongwith demand draft of
Rs. 1000/- payable at any nationalized bank in Bikaner be forwarded to Director, Institute of Agri Business Management, S K Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner – 334006.
Admission cannot be claimed by any candidate as a matter of right. Bikaner Court alone shall have jurisdiction to determine all disputes pertaining to interpretation of provision under eligibility criteria.
Number of seats
The regular intake capacity is 25 (60% seats for candidates belonging to Rajasthan and 40% seats for candidates from other States / UTs). In addition to the regular seats, 5 payment seats (including Industry / NRI sponsored) shall be filled up by candidates meeting the prescribed eligibility requirement. Seats for different categories are reserved as per the reservation policy implemented by the University.
Reservation
Seats for OBC, SC, ST, PH, female candidates and Kashmiri migrants are reserved as per the reservation policy of the Government of Rajasthan, implemented by the University. Candidates claiming reservation shall be required to submit appropriate certificate at the time of Group Discussion/Personal Interview, failing which they shall be treated in general category. Any subsequent claim for reservation shall not be entertained.
A maximum of 10 seats (40% of the intake capacity), distributed among different categories, are meant for the candidates from other states, provided they find a place in the merit list. In case a seat remains vacant for any reason, the same may be filled by a candidate belonging to Rajasthan State or vice-versa.
Admission on Sponsored / Payment seats
Candidates aspiring for admission on payment seats (including Industry/NRI sponsored candidates) will also have to appear for CAT-2011. Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT score will be considered for admission as per the eligibility criteria including Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Candidates from States of other than Rajasthan
A candidate falling in either of the following categories will be considered in ‘Other State Category’:
A candidate who is a permanent resident of any state other than Rajasthan since birth, or
A candidate whose permanent address is outside the Rajasthan State, unless he submits a domicile certificate of Rajasthan at the time of Group Discussion/Personal Interview, or
A candidate who completed his qualifying examination from outside the Rajasthan State, unless he submits domicile certificate from Rajasthan at the time of Group Discussion/Personal Interview.
Verification of Antecedents
At the time of Group Discussion and Personal Interview, each candidate will be required to submit a character certificate from the Head of the Institution (Registrar/Dean/Principal/Director of the University/College/ Institute) last attended, certifying the following points among others.
That the applicant has not taken part in any activity subversive of the rules, regulations and discipline of the institution, and
That the applicant has never used unfair means in any examination conducted by the institution.
Medical Examination
All candidates selected for admission will be required to produce medical and physical fitness certificate at the time of registration.
Ragging
In order to curb the menace of ragging in institutions offering higher education, the UGC has prepared Regulations which had been approved by the Commission in its meeting on June 4, 2009 and the same have been circulated to all universities established or incorporated by or under a Central Act / Provincial Act or State / UT Act and all institutions deemed to be universities under Section (3) of UGC Act, 1956. Ragging is totally banned in the institute and considering it as a criminal offence, strict disciplinary action will be taken against students indulging in ragging. Students admitted in the institute alongwith their parents / guardians will be required to submit an affidavit as per the UGC guidelines.
